Are You Emotionally Ready for Pregnancy?

Now that you already know how to be physically ready, lets get you ready emotionally. Reality check:Being a parent is a full time job and it is a huge  responsibility to shoulder.

Hence, you must be prepared to face some major   lifestyle changes once you become a parent. It is also important that your partner is as ready as you are before you conceive. Although there is no right or
wrong time to have a baby, my personal advice is that if you are still young, give yourself sometime to enjoy your marriage, stabilize your relationship and stabilize your finances before you take this step.

Although having a baby means you now have less time for yourself, less sleep and more expenses, let me assure you that having a baby can be very fun and fulfilling. The key here is to adapt and prepare well. To further check how prepared you and your partner are, ask each other the below questions and answer them honestly.

How will a baby affect your relationship with your partner? Are you prepared to make some lifestyle changes? Eg. miss your   favorite TV programs, go out or meet friends less often, sleep less, etc?Do you like children? Can you spend your time with them? Can you picture yourself as a parent? How will a baby affect your career? Why do you want to have a baby? Are you under some kind of pressure from in-laws, parents, partner, friends or anyone else? How would you like to raise your child and to what extent are you willing to go to get the best for your child?Do you have the support from your family & friends? If something were to happen to your relationship or your  partner, will you be able to raise a child alone? Can you handle a sick child or a child with special needs?
